6 Ways to Embrace the Holidays in Miami

‘Tis the season for holiday fun so grab your friends and family and take advantage of the season’s best events happening around Miami: 1. Symphony of Lights: All month long, take a trip to The Village at Gulfstream Park to enjoy the Symphony of Lights, a free nightly holiday light show featuring 50-foot Christmas tree and more than 350,000 colored lights synchronized to the music of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Plus, during select times, Santa and Mrs. Claus, toy soldiers, elves, angels, and jugglers will be on hand to join in the fun. Light shows happen nightly from 6-11PM – every hour on the hour! In addition to the nightly celebrations, the village will host a Breakfast with Santa event on December 13th from 9am to 11am.

2. A Trip to Aventura Mall: Yes- traffic getting in is a mess and finding a parking space is even worse but there’s good reason for it!  Aventura Mall features one million sparkling lights, Santa’s Village, a Model Traing Station, and the Citi Lounge, where Citi customer receive exclusive holiday perks all season long!

“Santa’s Magical Village” encompasses Santa’s House and a 52-foot tree adorned with holiday characters from top to bottom that comes to life in a live music and light show every 30 minutes. Children can also pose for photos with Santa Claus to capture this very special experience.

Families also love to visit the Model Train Station. At 16 by 29 feet, it’s South Florida’s largest indoor train display, featuring five electric trains that whistle and smoke their way through a 360-degree experience of an enchanted winter landscape filled with city towns, country fairs, mountains, and of course, Aventura Mall.

3. Santa’s Enchanted Village: Billed as the world’s largest Christmas theme park, this enchanted village features of 100 rides, shows, games and attractions. Hundreds of thousands of visitors come every year to experience the magic of South Florida’s tallest Christmas tree, millions of dazzling lights, hundreds of themed displays, festive Christmas music, and delicious foods from around the world, live show entertainment and carnival rides suited for the entire family. history_header

4. The Miami Outboard Club Holiday Boat Parade: The tradition continues at Bayfront Park Miami.  In addition to dazzling boats, families will enjoy a Bounce House, Music, Food Truck Invasion, Boats, and Fireworks at 9:00pm. Don’t forget to bring your toy donation.

5. Deering Holiday Wonderland: Throughout December, transport yourself into a Christmas fantasy with 600 yards of ribbon, 900 feet of garland and handcrafted wreaths that will take your breath away at the Deering Estate. Guided tours of the estate house and natural areas are available and the cost is included in the price of admission ($12 for adults, $7 for children).

6. The Nutcracker: Nothing quite says the holidays like a trip to see The Nutcracker.  The Miami City Ballet will perform the holiday classic at the Adrienne Arsht Center December 18th through 24th.
