There are few things more satisfying than sinking your teeth into a mouth-watering arepa – well-balanced, fresh ingredients stuffed into a flavorful, lightly crispy dough. The competition in Miami is no doubt steep, but one charming Venezuelan restaurant is gaining a reputation as one of the best- Doggi’s Churrasqueria and Arepa Bar in Coral Gables.
Passion radiates throughout this tiny eatery. A few scattered tables greet hungry patrons on the sidewalk and a vibrant but cozy space indoors awaits. Unique features including a wrought iron gate, an array of Venezuelan memorabilia, and a large projector for soccer games bring the tiny space to life.
Doggi’s Arepa Bar includes over a dozen options, including everything from the basics like Arepa Queso De Mano (made with white cheese) to more complex flavors like the Arepa Tripleta (combination of any protein, gouda cheese and reina pepiada). Other menu highlights include Cachapas – a traditional Venezuelan and Colombian dish made from corn, Parillas- marinated churrasco, marinated chicken, chorizo and yuca fries, Pepitos- Venezuelan sandwhiches, burgers, and empanadas.
Doggi’s is located at 1246 SW Coral Way in Miami.
