Known for its trendy dance clubs, luxury shops and tropical beaches, Miami Beach is considered to be the playground of the rich and famous. Overflowing with Latin flare and vibrant life, it’s no surprise the beach is swarming with both American and international tourists all year round. With non-stop parties and cheesy tourist traps, Miami locals need an escape from the crazy, hustle and bustle of Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road. Their prayers were finally answered with the opening of the Soho Beach House in 2010.
Located on the historic site of the Sovereign Hotel, the Soho Beach House offers a posh and tranquil haven for those trying to escape the madness of South Beach.
Take one step inside and you’re instantly transported into a rustic-chic oasis, inspired by a blend of 1940s Art Deco and Latin American style. Functioning as both a hotel and an elite members-only club, this swanky boutique attracts the creative minds of those in film, media and creative industries.
If you’ve ever dreamed of mingling with artists, influencers and A-list celebrities, this is definitely the place to be. One moment you’re brunching next to Adriana Lima and the next you’re lounging at the pool with Prince Harry. (Yes, the Royal Bad Boy was spotted poolside recently. “Le Sigh.”) However, don’t be so quick to pull out your iPhone because this private club prohibits cameras (with the exception of the infamous photo booth on the second floor!).
Experiencing a day at the Soho Beach House is comparable to going on a luxurious, mini-vacation. Guests and members have the option of lounging poolside on their cozy, blue and white-striped beds or at the private beach club, all of which are equipped with full waiter service. What could be better than sipping on a cocktail while enjoying the ocean view?
If a break from the Miami heat is needed, the Club Bar is the perfect escape to enjoy food and drinks in a quaint, garden setting. Always full of interesting people and even more interesting fashion, this is the ideal spot for snacking on chips and guacamole and people watching (The people watching here will never disappoint).
The Soho Beach House is also home to Cecconi’s Miami Beach. Inside one of the city’s most romantic restaurants, patrons are surrounded by twinkle-lit trees and can dine on Italian cuisine under the night sky, which makes for the ideal date spot. Also, Cecconi’s is open to the public so everyone can check it out.
With two pools, a beach club, restaurants, a Cowshed spa and a movie screening room, the Soho House is truly a home away from home. Because memberships are exclusive and pricey and it’s tough to get the full experience, here’s a helpful tip: tag along with a friend!
Hope to see you there.
