Miami foodies are anxiously awaiting the start of Miami Spice 2015, a two-month long epicurean event from August 1 to September 30 that offers discounted 3-course meals at our city’s top restaurants. This year Miami New Times will partner up with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to celebrate the culinary event with their official launch party, Iron Fork on July 30 from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Located at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Miami, diners and food lovers across the Greater Miami area will watch two of our city’s finest chefs battle it out in a sizzling competition to be crowned the recipient of the prestigious Iron Fork award.
This year’s fierce showdown will feature Eileen Andrade of FINKA Table & Tap vs. Dena Marino of MC Kitchen. Each competitor will receive a basket full of food, including one secret ingredient, which they will then use to create a mouthwatering creation for a panel of local celebrity chefs. Veteran Chef Allen Susser, who handpicked the panel of judges including Danny Serfer of Blue Collar/Mignonette, Jamie De Rosa of Tongue & Cheek and Ralph Pagano of Naked Taco, will host the competition.
The launch party will also include live entertainment and unlimited sampling from more than 45 local eateries. Participating restaurants for Iron Fork include FINKA Table & Tap, KONE Sushi, Mellow Mushroom, Naked Taco, Pincho Factory, R House and Suviche.
Tickets are available for purchase online at the Iron Fork ticketing page. General Admission is $50 if purchased in advance and $65 at the door. VIP tickets are $85 if purchased in advance and $100 at the door. VIP access includes one-hour early entrance at 6 pm, exclusive restaurant sampling, complimentary beer, wine and spirits and complete access to the Iron Fork/Miami Spice kickoff event.
As Shawn Carter once said, “after the show it’s the after party,” and this year’s Iron Fork after party will be held at E11EVEN ROOFTOP. The downtown hotspot will provide a night full of awesome entertainment, including music by DJ WASABI. Shuttle service will be provided from the Hyatt Regency to E11EVEN.
Party on, Miami!
