Museum of Fashion, Third Dream Media, Knight Foundation and Concrete Beach Brewery present “Beyond the Limelight: Art Basel”, a photo exhibition of New York City nightlife in the 80s and 90s through the lens of photographer Tina Paul, and a fashion exhibit curated by Keni Valenti, opening December 3rd at 6PM and running till December 16th.
Vogue Magazine, W, and New York Magazine have crowned Keni Valenti the “King of Vintage” and for over 30 years he has been a prominent designer, fashion expert, and historian in the industry. Valenti essentially moved his clothing haven down from New York to the art scene of Miami’s Wynwood district. He currently runs a gallery in Wynwood with rotating shows taking place at the Museum of Fashion.
For “Beyond the Limelight,” Keni Valenti will have a special fashion exhibit inspired by Tina Paul’s photographs and the styles behind them. Designer pieces include: Jean Paul Gaultier, Emilio Pucci, Vivienne Westwood, Thierry Mugler, Dolce & Gabbana, Stephen Sprouse, and many others.
For the exhibition, Tina will feature never before seen photos, focusing on the ones that over time have become more significant. Simultaneously, Tina Paul is featured in a permanent collection of the Jue Lan Club in New York, an upscale restaurant in the former Limelight nightclub, where her more iconic and widely published photographs can be admired. Tina continues her work documenting today’s cultural scene, nightlife, parties, festivals, political arena and celebrity red carpet events in Miami and NYC.
