Kickoff Football Season with Miami’s Favorite Sports Bars

By Erica Greenfield

Labor Day is more than just another excuse to escape the city for a long weekend or enjoy a traditional BBQ with family and friends.  It is the unofficial end of summer.   Sure, this may bring tears to the eyes of kids returning to school or the South Floridians dreading the occasional 79-degree cold front in the coming months.

However, there is a select group of passionate souls who have been counting down the days to this week since January 6 and February 2:  FOOTBALL FANS.   Yes, Labor Day Weekend signals the start of both the college and NFL seasons.  For the next few months, Saturday and Sundays will consist of overcrowded bars full of fans cheering on their favorite teams (and of course, their fantasy league teams).

Whether you support the Gators, Seminoles, Hurricanes, Bucs, Jaguars or Dolphins, it’s time to break out your luckiest jersey and head to the nearest bar because football season is finally here!

If you’re still scrambling to find the perfect location for the next game then you’ve come to the right place.  Here are our top picks for Miami’s best sports bars and restaurants.

Famous for their wings, this South Miami favorite is the perfect spot for watching your favorite teams.   With arguably the best chicken wings in town (especially if you order them “Dale” style), a decent beer selection and solid food, this is a great place to set up camp for NFL Sundays.

This Brickell neighborhood gastropub is the place to be if you’re a Florida Gator or NFL fan. Batch hosts the official watch party of the Gator Club of Miami, breaking out drink specials, orange and blue décor and your favorite Florida fight songs!   They have non-Gator football fans covered with all other NCAA and NFL games with 14 TVs, two projectors and awesome food and drink specials.

With locations in Mary Brickell Village and South Beach, this upscale bar has a wide variety of beer selections and serves up some of the most mouth-watering burgers in town.  B&B provides the best of both with their awesome food and abundance of TVs for optimum sports viewing.  You get to have your burger and eat it too!

What’s a list of sports bars without Duffy’s?  With multiple locations throughout Florida, Duffy’s is one of the most popular sports-themed restaurants around.  With quality food and more big-screen TV’s than anyone can imagine, Duffy’s Coconut Grove is a dream come true for sports enthusiasts.   They even offer a loyalty program, offering rewards and incentives to their MVP customers.  Need we say more?

With college football already going into its second week and NFL kicking off Thursday night we only have one question: Are you ready for some football?

There’s no doubt that this truck driving through Coral Gables is ready for some football
