The Orange Bowl has announced that American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will headline the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest presented by the Capital One Venture card on December 31, 2015. Phillips’ performance outside Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., will kick off a day of fun activities for fans leading up to the first-ever College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl featuring a matchup between No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 1 Clemson.
While touring the U.S. and beyond all throughout last year, singer/guitarist Phillip Phillips kept up with a songwriting practice built on the 23-year-old Georgia native’s lifelong passion for rugged, rootsy rock-and-roll music. Phillips’ sophomore album “Behind The Light” is the follow-up to 2012’s “The World from the Side of the Moon,” a platinum plus-selling album that debuted at No. 4 and featured the five-time platinum smash hit “Home.”
The Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest presented by the Capital One Venture card will take place on December 31, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Gate S Parking Lot of Sun Life Stadium. In addition to Phillip Phillps’ performance, fans will enjoy interactive games and exhibits, a wide variety of food and beverages, and performances by the Oklahoma and Clemson bands, cheerleaders and local talent. The Capital One Orange Bowl Burger Battle will also take place, bringing the ultimate game day tailgate culinary competition to Fan Fest. The competition will feature a tournament-style format, with top chefs from South Florida facing off, as well as the chefs from Oklahoma and Clemson team markets. The winning burger and chef will take home the trophy as the 2015 Capital One Orange Bowl Burger Battle Champion.
