Miami is one of the most fashionable cities in the world, and Mover & Shaker Amanda Del Duca is leading the pack. This ambitious Miami Beach-based fashion writer translated her resort wear styling blog into wardrobe styling, an online boutique, and most recently a coveted position as the Director at kitten, a branding and talent agency managed by Galore Magazine. Her work has been featured in ELLE, Style.com, New York Magazine, Stylecaster, Maxim Magazine and Grazia to name a few.
Amanda is known for her resort wear styling. She has worked with Terry Richardsson, Galore Magazine and FHM amongst many others. Amanda’s blog partnerships have included Sandro Paris, Stuart Weitzman, Phillip Lim for Target, Linda Farrow, Bebe and Kenneth Cole.
After graduating from the University of Florida, the Naples-native officially made the move to Miami Beach to work as a fashion writer for socialmiami.com. We caught up with Amanda, one of your top Miami Movers & Shakers of 2015.
Miami Happening: What motivates you every morning?
Amanda: My inbox!
Miami Happening: What would you say is your idea of a perfect day?
Amanda: Work in the morning, beach in afternoon, quiet dinner near the water with my boyfriend, David.
Miami Happening: Who or what inspires you?
Amanda: I listen to a lot of podcasts, and I still read magazines. Instagram is probably the most inspiring to me right now – I follow so many talented people.
Miami Happening: How did you decide to go into the fashion industry?
Amanda: I don’t think I have ever actually felt like I am “in the fashion industry.” I started working as a fashion writer in my first job – I had just graduated with a degree in journalism and I always loved clothes, so it made sense at the time. Eventually that lead to style blogging, which lead to wardrobe styling and then to having my own online boutique.
Miami Happening: Tell us about your current project with Kitten.
Amanda: I was brought on as director in January 2015. Kitten is a world-wide digital agency for models + creators. We represent content creation on social platforms like Instagram, Snapchat and Youtube.
Miami Happening: Which achievement are you most proud of?
Amanda: I’m really into what I am doing now at Kitten.
Miami Happening: What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
Amanda: Opening and closing my clothing store, it was very bittersweet.
Miami Happening: Where’s your favorite place to go to unwind in Miami?
Amanda: South Point! I love getting Joe’s takeaway and bringing it down to watch sunset.
Miami Happening: If you could go back in time and talk to yourself ten years ago, what advice would you give?
Amanda: Trust the timing of your life 🙂
