Wynwood is considered to be the heart and soul of the Miami Arts District. Overflowing with culture and street art on every corner, it’s no surprise that Wynwood-based hair salon, Junior & Hatter, was inspired by the overwhelming amount of creativity and artwork flowing through the streets.
Brought to you by the artistic minds of veteran stylists Andrea Battista and Mario Silvestri, Junior & Hatter offers the luxuries of an upscale salon in an artistic, vintage setting. Don’t be fooled by their high-end services, because this is definitely not your average studio. Sure, you can leave with a killer coiffure and polished nails (or a nice shave for the gents), but this indie-chic shop is delivering more than just hairstyles.
Hidden between the graffiti-covered warehouses and studios off of NW 2nd Avenue, Junior & Hatter wanted to participate in the celebration of art and culture that their neighborhood is known for. Motivated by their life-long admiration for hair, fashion and design, Andrea and Mario decided to contribute to their community with more than just beauty services, but with laughter. This is why they began hosting a local comedy show featuring Miami’s hottest up-and-coming comics.
Plugged Comedy Night takes place during Wynwood Art Walk, which occurs on the second Saturday of each month. This live show promises an entertaining night full of laughter, booze and great company.
Emceed by Alex Morizio, the next Comedy Night will take place this coming Saturday, July 12 at approximately 9:30 pm and will feature laugh-out-loud performances by Dominic Perenzin, Jessica Gross, Jamal Hattar, and John Wynn (Who will be taking his talents to Los Angeles so come check him out for his final show at J & H!).
If you’re interested in buying tickets, there’s no need because everything is free! So grab a drink and sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
