The 2015 Miami Jewish Film Festival is happening January 15th through the 29th, featuring two weeks of fantastic films spread across eight venues in South Florida. Now in it’s 18th year, attendees will enjoy more than 74 films from 20 countries as well as appearances by 50 acclaimed filmmakers and guests, including Nancy Spielberg, Bill Morrison, and Lacey Schwartz.
In addition to screening a diverse lineup of documentaries, dramas, and comedies, including five Academy Award entries, the festival will hold special events, such as the free short-film showcase and a night at the Blue Starlite Drive-In with the Florida premiere of Another World, the first sci-fi action movie filmed in Israel.
The festival concludes January 29 at O Cinema Miami Shores with The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films, which tells the story of Cannon’s roots and cultural legacy in film. Tickets for individual screenings cost $11 to $13. Call 305-573-7304 or visit miamijewishfilmfestival.net.
