Broward College brings that Fringe Festival back to South Florida for its’ second year in a row. The two-day event is set to be held on May 6 & 7, featuring diverse, cutting-edge, uncensored, and unjuried live theater performances. The Fringe Festival aims to fuse the art scene with the local community by bringing the true nature of creation to the stage and street.
The history of Fringe Festivals begin in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947, where a number of performing artists decided to produce their won work in empty stores and church basements. Thus, their work was staged literally “on the fringe” of other established festivals. The concept was an immediate success and the Fringe soon became increasingly popular throughout the world.
In addition to the live performances, this exciting street fair will also feature local vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. Tickets are $5 – $10 per performance, or $42.00 for all day access.
