The Commonwealth Institute of South Florida (TCI), a nonprofit committed to advancing women in business, will host its 14th annual Leadership Luncheon at the Port of Miami on board the Celebrity Equinox cruise ship on October 27th. The luncheon will feature an intimate conversation with Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Female Quotient and Founder of The Girls’ Lounge, and Katie Kempner, Founder of Kempner Communications and “Perspectives with Katie Kempner” where they dig deep into her journey, path to success, and lessons learned along the way. This event brings like-minded professional women in leadership positions together to share in the inspiring story of one of the country’s top women executives.
“We are thrilled to have someone as accomplished as Shelley Zalis speaking at our luncheon this year,” says TCI Executive Director, Laurie Kaye Davis. “Her personal experience and insight on what it takes to get to the top and become an award-winning, game-changing entrepreneur is sure to inspire guests to go against the grain.”
Shelley’s story is one driven by passion as she left the corporate world to create OTX (Online Testing Exchange), which in just nine years became one of the largest and fastest growing research companies in the world. She sold OTX in 2010, where she led global innovation in over 80 countries, and recently launched The Female Quotient and Girls’ Lounge, which supports and mentors women to find their voice, embrace their feminine leadership powers and work together to transform corporate culture.
“We share the stories of incredible leaders to unleash the potential of women and inspire them to overcome their challenges and find their own successes,” added Davis. “Shelley’s journey does just that, teaching us that it pays off to take risks, make tough decisions and push ahead to have the careers we’ve always dreamed of.”
TCI’s Leadership Luncheon will take place on October 27th from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Port of Miami on board Celebrity’s Equinox cruise ship in Miami, Florida. Guests will experience a globally inspired meal in the sophisticated Silhouette Dining Room designed by Michelin-starred chef, Cornelius Gallagher.
