All aboard! Trolley Service Arrives in North Beach

North Beach, a neighborhood that has historically been underserved in terms of public tranportation, will get access to their very own free trolley loop at the end of October 2014.

The route will stretch from 65th Street north to 88th Street, and west to Normandy Isle, from 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. Riders will be able to access on-board Wi-Fi connectivity as well as real-time trolley location updates through the city’s smartphone app, City of Miami Beach e-Gov.

Planned stops include the Publix on Collins Avenue just south of 69th Street, the North Shore Branch Library, the North Shore Open Space Park, the Stella Marvis Senior Center, Stillwater Park, Biscayne Elementary School, the North Shore Youth Center and Normandy Isle Park and Pool.

With recent development in the neighborhood, including the addition of an independent movie theater and daily beach yoga at 85th street, North Beach’s cultural revitalization continues.
