Watch out, Miami—the walking dead are coming (No, we’re not referring to AMC’s hit television show The Walking Dead which happened to premiere this week). We hope you have your zombie survival guide handy because the living dead will be taking over Midtown Miami.
There’s no need to panic because the zombie apocalypse isn’t actually upon us just yet. This is all in the spirit of Halloween fun for the 3rd Crawl. Get ready to break out your finest face paint and most gruesome getup and prepare to join the zombie invasion on Saturday October 18, 2014.
This ghoulish event is organized by The Shops at Midtown Miami in hopes of encouraging participants to experience the bars and restaurants this trendy neighborhood has to offer. The walk itself is less than one mile, but if a break is needed from staggering through the streets, crawlers can enjoy mixed drinks, beers, wine, cocktails and delicious treats from zombie-friendly vendors at the designated crawler-free zone at the Fountain Plaza. The Halloween-themed fun continues with a costume contest at 9 PM where a lucky man, woman and group will receive up to $250 in prizes, including gift cards to Midtown’s best restaurants and a Redd’s Apple Ale gift basket.
General admission tickets are on sale for $33.33 and include crawl entry, wristband and sampling of food and drinks from each participating bar. For the hard-core walkers, Dead Head VIP tickets are available for $88.88 and give you access to the VIP tent, parking and access to an on-site designated driver (because even zombies shouldn’t drink and drive). The party kicks off at 7 PM and promises a fun-filled night any zombie would enjoyfull of booze and brains!
